Aikido in Jukara
For the time being, all of our classes have been cancelled due to the corona virus epidemic
We will inform here when it is again safe to continue.
Meanwhile: stay safe, stay healthy and stay home!
Our dojo is located in Rajatorppa, Vantaa, only 10 km from both Helsinki city center and Helsinki airport.
Address: Rajatorpantie 25
By public transport: The closest train station is Myyrmäki; the dojo is ~10 min walk from there. Also several bus lines pass near the dojo. See HSL time table for more information.
By car: These is some parking space in front of the dojo. If full, parking is also possible at the nearby Energia Areena sports complex.
The dojo is located underground in a cold war era nuclear bomb shelter. Front door is kept locked; please arrive in time so that someone can let you in, or contact us beforehand to get a PIN code that opens the door.
People new to aikido can start at any time in our beginner’s classes on Wed and Sat. These classes are suitable for both adults and children (over 7 years)

Beginner classes are intended for persons (children and adults alike) with no or little aikido experience and children who are still too young to joing regular classes.
Basics classes are suitable for all aikido practitioners with at least some experience (6th kyu). Focus is in basic aikido principles and techniques required in kyu graduation.
Advanced classes focus in aikido applications and the inner details that make a technique effective. No grade requirements but participants are expected to know the basic aikido techniques and to have reasonably good ukemi skills.
We arrange several aikido seminars every year. Some of the internationally known instructors who have visited us regularly include Franck Noël (7th dan), Takeshi Yamashima (7th dan), Hiroshi Ikeda (7th dan), Kaname Ariga (6th dan) and Gaston Nicolessi (6th dan).
